As you know by now, we lost the health care battle in the House by a razor-thin 220-215 margin. Now the bill is moving to the Senate, where Majority Leader Harry Reid is putting it on the fast track. On Tuesday he filed a motion to introduce the bill on Monday, November 16. Assuming that there will be an objection, a procedural vote on whether to proceed on the bill will likely occur on Tuesday, November 17. To pass, Senator Reid must get 60 'aye' votes. Each of us needs to call and/or email both Senator Grassley and Senator Harkin to urge them to vote 'no' on the motion to proceed with H.R. 3962. Senator Grassley, Phone: (202) 224-3744, or go to http://grassley.senate.gov/contact.cfm Senator Harkin Phone: (202) 224-3254, or go to https://harkin.senate.gov/c/index.cfm Please contact our Senators between now and Monday.
